Privacy Policy
A short policy for a site with a small footprint. If you never contact us and never opt in to cookies, we do not have data about you beyond ordinary server access logs.
The short version: we do not run accounts, we do not sell data, and the only cookie we set by default is the one that remembers your cookie choice.
1. Who runs the site
GiftCardInfo is operated from 4398 S Lincoln St, Englewood, CO 80113, US. For privacy questions, write to [email protected]. We are not affiliated with any gift card issuer, retailer, or payment network.
2. What you send us
The contact form on this site opens your local email application with your inputs already filled in. Nothing is transmitted to our servers by the form itself — the message reaches us only after you press send inside your email app. The information we receive is whatever you chose to include in that message.
Please do not send card numbers, PINs, payment credentials, or copies of government identification. We do not need them to answer any editorial question.
3. What the server records automatically
Our hosting provider records ordinary access logs when a page is requested. This includes the requesting IP address, a browser and OS identifier, the URL requested, a timestamp, and, when the browser sends one, a referring URL. These logs are kept only as long as the host retains them for security and operations.
4. Cookies and browser storage
Necessary storage records your cookie choice under the key gci_consent_v2 so we do not ask again on the next page. Analytics or functional cookies, when they exist, are only set after you opt in through the consent bar or the preferences dialog. Full detail is in the Cookie Notice.
5. What the data is used for
Only the obvious things: answering a question you sent us, remembering your cookie preference, keeping the site up, and understanding aggregate traffic if you opted in to analytics.
6. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. Where a service provider is required to deliver the site (host, email delivery), they receive only what is necessary to perform their role. Disclosure to authorities is limited to what applicable law requires.
7. Third-party assets
Pages load web fonts and an icon library from public content delivery networks. When those assets load, the provider receives the standard request information that any web request carries, including your IP address.
8. Retention
Editorial emails are kept only as long as the conversation requires and a reasonable record of correspondence. Server logs follow the host provider's retention schedule.
9. Your rights
Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To exercise a right, email [email protected] with a short description. Responses are within the timeframes required by the applicable state law.
10. Children
The site is written for adult readers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has sent information through the form, write to us and we will remove it.
11. Changes
Material changes are indicated by moving the “Effective” date at the top of this page.
